It’s the little things. Always has been.

Yes, I have the digital business card options. But I still carry physical cards because when everyone goes digital, “old school” becomes novel again.

And I made my cards a conversation starter: same front, 50 different backs each with a different quote.

I spread the cards out face up and invite people to pick the one they’re meant to receive… and they always find meaning in the quote they get!

Here’s the real question:
What are you doing to stand out in the most innocuous, seemingly simple spaces ... so people actually remember you?

We don’t have to accept anything as inevitable.

That is true in politics, life, relationships, and especially in the future of AI.

As coaches, leaders, builders, and humans, we have a responsibility to stay curious about more than what AI can do. We also need to ask what it is doing to us, for us, and through us.

Technology has never been neutral in its impact. And with every major technological shift before this, humanity has had to decide what guardrails, standards, and structures were needed to keep people (and our planet) safe.

So here is the coaching question I am sitting with:

Where are you using AI in ways that serve humanity, and where are you noticing the risk of humanity serving the technology?

I’m going to be exploring this more over the coming months, especially at the intersection of AI and human coaching. I’d love to hear what you’re seeing in your world.
