The perfect suburban life people see in the movies seems to be the main driving force for more than half of home buyers in the U.S.

2nd place goes to small-town dwellings at 20%

3rd place is urban areas at 13%

4th place is rural areas at 14%

The least favorite option on the housing market among all age groups is a resort area. This is probably because these resorts tend to have high costs of living and additional taxes, so it doesn’t pay off in the long term.
