Y’all…
This one had me sitting there like… “Dang.”
For the longest time, I thought saying yes was the goal.
If I could do it… I did it.
Another shift? Cool.
Another opportunity? Cool.
Another business? Cool.
Whole time…
I never stopped to ask if any of it was actually getting me closer to the life I was trying to build.
I was just busy!!
And I know I can’t be the only one.
Maybe that’s why this series has hit so many of y’all.
A lot of us aren’t trying to figure out if we’re capable. We already know we are. We’re trying to figure out what actually deserves our time.
That’s a completely different conversation.
And to be honest… I’m still figuring it out.
But every week I’m learning something that I wish somebody would’ve told me years ago.
So I’m gonna keep sharing it. Because if it saves one of y’all a few years…
Then it’s worth it. ❤️
There are conversations Black physicians have with each other that rarely make it outside the room.
The microaggressions.
The macroaggressions.
The assumptions.
The moments that make you question whether it was ever about your qualifications.
Building two successful urgent care centers came with stories we’ve never shared publicly.
Maybe one day we’ll tell them.
🎬
I'm planning my exit from medicine.
And right now...
I'm in the messy middle.
The part where I'm trying to figure out what the next chapter looks like.
So I figured...
Why not bring y'all along with me?
Every week, I'm gonna show y'all what I'm actually doing in real time to build a life where medicine isn't the only thing my future depends on.
Some days I'm spending the whole day shadowing somebody who's built a business I know nothing about.
Some days I'm down a rabbit hole researching an idea that may never make me a dollar.
Some days I'm on the phone asking a million questions to people who've already built the kind of life I'm trying to create.
And every single day, I'm documenting the journey... the wins, the mistakes, the pivots, the moments where I think, "Okay... maybe I'm onto something," and the moments where I realize, "Well... that wasn't it." 😂
Because I have a feeling I'm not the only one trying to figure this out.
So if you're in your own messy middle too...
Come on.
Let's figure it out together. ❤️
Not everybody gets lucky enough to find a friendship that grows with every version of you.
I’m grateful I did.
Thank you for showing up.
For praying with me.
For laughing with me.
For crying with me.
And for reminding me that no matter what life looks like, I never have to go through it alone.
Happy Birthday, Bridget!!!
Love you forever. ❤️🎉
