It's hard to believe that it has been 22 years since my life was forever changed. It seems an entire lifetime ago, yet the grip it has had on me is still very real and fresh.

It's amazing how my past experiences have shaped my life, affected my relationships, and molded who I am as a person. The person you see now is not the same person.

I am no longer afraid.

I no longer feel powerless.

I no longer feel as though I am worthless.

I no longer believe that I won't amount to anything.

I no longer question if I make a difference in this world.

I am no longer a victim, but a victory. I have taken my mess in life and made it my message.

I have turned my trials into triumphs and have turned my wounds into wisdom to help others.
