God is stirring great things within me right now that are definitely out of my comfort zone. With my faith in God I know the outcome will be awesome for GCF, our customers, and our employees, and of course God.

As summer winds down and we get ready to fall into autumn, here are a few home maintenance tips for getting ready for the cooler weather.

1. Check your chimney. If you have never had it professionally cleaned(swept) maybe consider that. The build up inside the chimney can cause fires very easily if not maintained and cleaned properly.
2. Make sure your gutters are clean. With all the rain we have had this summer, they may be full of leaves already. Check and make sure they are ready to handle all the leaves that will be falling soon.
3. Time to change the AC unit filter. Start getting your units ready to change over to heat instead. If you have window units, get your covers ready or a storage area ready if you take them out.
4. Check the insulation and caulking around your windows and doors. You do not want to let that precious heat out this winter. Keeping your doors and windows sealed well will help keep those heating costs down.
5. Check those batteries in those smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. These two things are a couple of the best safety devices to help keep you safe in the cooler months when heating your home.
