Da’Vion Tatum made history as Westfield High School’s first Black male valedictorian. Last year, he graduated from Harvard University with a double major in Biomedical Engineering and the History of Science.

His journey was extraordinary, marked by acceptances to 11 elite universities and nearly $750,000 in scholarships. Yet for Tatum, success was always about more than personal triumph. “My story can help young Black men see they aren’t confined to society’s limitations,” he says.
