What is EMV Compliance?

Now mandated by law since October 1st 2015. EuroPay Mastercard and Visa (EMV now EMVCo.) joined forces to develop a new standard in secure payment processing.

EMV cards are smart cards that store data on integrated circuits. Unlike magnetic strips that must be swiped in order to process a transaction, EMV chipped cards must be “dipped” in order to process a secure payment transaction. In addition to that, with NFC ready technology, you can also process contactless payments with your EMV contactless card.
