As kickoff awaits, Fayette County, Georgia is immensely proud to be the brand new home of U.S. Soccer, its National Training Center, and the talented staff who work tirelessly to grow the game and develop winning teams.

The Men’s National Team (USA Soccer Men's National Team) we’ll see play Belgium tonight, trained here — in Fayette County — in the days leading up to the FIFA World Cup.

The National Training Center extends across 200 acres and features 13 regulation size fields and a state-of-the-art indoor facility, which now serves as the home for all of U.S. Soccer’s 27 national teams.

GO USA! 🇺🇸 ⚽️ 🦅

Happy Independence Day to all!

Today, our country celebrates its 250th birthday, a triumphant achievement and a testament to God’s blessing upon us.

Across Georgia’s 3rd Congressional District, we will commemorate our semiquincentennial anniversary with parades, fireworks displays, and reflections on our Founding Fathers’ bravery.

May we, and future generations, celebrate and cherish this important day for another 250 years — and beyond!

On this day in 1944, over 34,000 American soldiers crowded together in small, amphibious boats en route to Omaha Beach.

As the boats landed on the beach, and their bow ramps dropped down leading the men ashore, unrelenting machine gun fire rained down from enemy bunkers.

Undeterred, the American and Allied forces emerged from the battle victorious, but not without a heavy cost.

Over 2,500 Americans died at Omaha Beach. One of them was 1st Lieutenant Thomas Royce Dallas Jr. from our Congressional District in Griffin, Georgia, who drew his last breath on the shores of Omaha Beach.

As we remember the heroism Americans exhibited on D-Day and we reflect on the cost of freedom, may we remember and be inspired by the names and faces of those brave soldiers who died in service to our Country.

Today, we fully reopened the Tyrone Post Office!

Before I was sworn into Congress, I promised to reopen the Tyrone Post Office, which had previously suffered extensive structural damage due to a fire. As of today, the Tyrone Post Office is fully open for business.

During a Congressional oversight hearing, I asked the Postmaster General to accelerate the Post Office’s reconstruction, which had been delayed for years. He and his team swiftly reacted, and worked closely with my team to achieve this goal.

Thank you to Tyrone Mayor Eric Dial and the Tyrone Town Council for your partnership and forceful advocacy, and thank you to Postmaster General David Steiner, and Kayla Dufrene, Brandy Jackson, and Sharon Alston of the Postal Service for your leadership on this important project.

Tonight, I was honored to partner with the Columbus Clingstones and host a Service Academy Night at the ballpark for six of the outstanding students I appointed to our country’s military service academies. Sadly, the game was eventually rained out, but the fans were uplifted, as each appointee walked on the field with their families to be individually recognized on the jumbotron for their patriotism.

As we reflect this week on the costly sacrifices made to defend our freedom, we are inspired by these young men and women preparing to attend the United States Military Academy at West Point, the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, and the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.

Congratulations to Addison, Colson, Mahika, Matthew, Steven, and Travonte!

This morning, I was honored to join Coweta County veterans, families, and community leaders at Newnan’s Memorial Day Ceremony.

Newnan is a community from which heroes are born. Two of Georgia’s 27 Medal of Honor recipients were from Newnan, and dozens more have earned a Purple Heart. At today’s ceremony, we honored one of those recipients, Private First Class James Alfred “Alf” Smith, a Newnan native, who was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart after sacrificing his life in service to our country during World War I.

May the stories of these heroes continue to inspire us and the next generation of guardians of our freedom.

Today, we honor the lives of the brave warriors who died in service to our country’s Armed Forces.

May their sacrifices and the heartbreak felt by their families remind us of the cost of freedom and the price of liberty on this solemn day of remembrance.

I was honored to join the wonderful people of Spalding County today in celebration of the groundbreaking of the Griffin-Spalding Regional Airport. This historic achievement was delivered through the collaboration of federal, state, and local stakeholders, and its construction will create more jobs and grow the economy across Georgia’s 3rd Congressional District.

Thank you to the Under Secretary of Transportation Ryan McCormack, Lt. Governor Burt Jones, and Spalding County leaders for participating in our ceremony today!

Today, we PASSED a new Farm Bill in the U.S. House of Representatives, for the first time since 2018.

Introduced as the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026, this legislation delivers BIG WINS for farmers and consumers.

Over 500 organizations — including the National Chicken Council and the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association — endorsed this bill.

209 Republicans, 14 Democrats, and 1 Independent voted YES on its passage.
