What surprised me most as I started looking at this footage is how fast it happened. I remember having a lot of thoughts as it was happening, but the whole thing from when the rear tire first locked until I stopped rolling is only about five seconds.

Today I turned a year older and got a little wiser, hopefully. I lost control of the bike coming through a curve in the mountains and went for a slide. I’m okay except my knee and my tailbone and my ego are all a little bruised up. This is what I get for joking around about getting into a wreck!
But those systems aren’t just gonna optimize themselves. ☕️
