The best way to honor mothers? Truly understanding them.

This means amplifying their voices, making them feel seen, listening to their stories, and accepting their realities about motherhood–the good and the bad.

We’re sharing 10 TEDx Talks–given by moms, but intended for everyone–that show the unfiltered realities of motherhood today. From maternal health disparities to the myth of the perfect mom to rebuilding a new identity as a mom, these TEDx Talks shine a light on the moments of motherhood we don’t talk about enough. Watch them here: https://www.tedxatlanta.com/topic/society/this-mothers-day-lets-honor-mothers-by-understanding-their-reality/

This Mother’s Day, take a few minutes to listen, learn, and understand a mom in your life. Happy Mother’s Day to all our moms in the TEDxAtlanta community! ❤️❤️❤️

We often think voting and running for office are the only ways to support democracy. True civic participation involves so much more. Meeting officials, signing petitions, volunteering, and speaking out – these often-overlooked actions are crucial for a thriving society.

You’ve been looking for a way to help out. Make a difference. Actually DO something that will make an impact.

We know. We’ve felt that, too. So we’ve created a space where you can do just that.

On Tuesday, April 21, TEDxAtlanta is hosting our first Salon of the season, Ideas Into Action: Atlanta Impact Night.

You’ll hear from a group of innovative Atlanta nonprofit leaders sharing their mission, in the hopes of finding talented, likeminded changemakers who want to connect, collaborate, and commit to making an impact together (that’s YOU!).

🐶 For those passionate about animal welfare, come hear from LifeLine Animal Project, the largest animal welfare organization in Georgia.

💻 For people who believe STEAM experiences should be accessible to kids of all cultural backgrounds, come listen to We Create Tech, who believes in preparing students for tech careers of the future.

🌍 If you have a heart for refugee advocacy, the The Welcome Co-op’s mission–to help thousands of refugees in Atlanta–is for you.
