City of Augusta - Dog Licensing for 2024

All 2023 dog licenses expire on 12/31/2023. January is a courtesy month and effective February 1st a $25 LATE FEE per dog will be assessed.

The cost is $6.00 for a dog that has been altered and $11.00 for an unaltered dog. We require up-to-date rabies vaccination information, as well as proof of spay/neuter.

How to Obtain a License

In-person: Visit the City Clerk’s Office during regular business hours, Monday - Friday from 7:45 AM to 4:30 PM.

Online: You may register your dog online at State of Maine Online Dog Licensing, this service does cost an additional $1 fee and your license will be mailed to you.
