Stay mosquito aware, Travis County! Austin Public Health says that mosquitoes have tested positive for West Nile virus in our community.

As the summer season continues, it's a good reminder to protect yourself and your family from mosquito-borne illnesses like West Nile virus. Wear EPA-approved insect repellent, eliminate standing water around your home, and cover up when spending time outdoors.

๐ŸŽ† Red, White & Be Ready this Fourth of July!
Fireworks are only allowed in unincorporated areas (outside city limits) of Travis County, and even in those areas, you canโ€™t shoot off fireworks:

๐Ÿšซ Within 600 feet of schools, churches, or hospitals
๐Ÿšซ In Travis County Parks
๐Ÿšซ On public roads

The safest way to celebrate is to go to a professional fireworks show! Celebrate responsibly!
