"Persistence without insight will lead to the same outcome" I heard this quote on Star Wars... And it speaks to a core problem that I see with clients. We're taught that "persistence is key" But if you grinding consistently without feedback, you're working dumb not smart. Example: Marketing. You could be cold calling motivated sellers every single day for 30 days straight and still not get a deal. Why? Well...how do you know if it's working? How many qualified leads do you get? How many people do you get a hold of? How long are you on calls? How many followup attempts? What kind of tone are you using? Is there a specific type of seller you're able to reach more than others? Most people can't answer these...because they are being persistent hoping that brute force and luck will win the day. Without these insights, you won't be able to make the slight improvements. Remember, if you're on a plane to LA from New York and the plane is 3 degrees off course upon take-off...the plane will land in Tijuana....hundreds of miles off course. Track your work over time so you can glean insights if your "grind" is working or not. I can't stand seeing pointless hustle leading to frustration and giving up.
