My friends! What a wild few years it has been...

What HASN'T happened in the last few years?! 😂 I moved to Texas, got a divorce, have a high schooler playing football, started a new business(es), had some midlife health issues, learned(ing) to love myself, took my kids to Europe, wrote some songs...

If I've learned anything along the way it's that I am a multi-passionate individual and that picking a "path" just simply may not be for me. But as I've matured I've also gotten more skilled at picking up on the threads that are woven through all of the different interests, seasons and pursuits of my life.

Since living in Austin I've been offering interior design services and have been working with clients on small venue and short term rental operations. I never thought I would "officially" go back to real estate, but this spring I did finally decide to get my real estate license here in Texas... pulling on one of those threads that has been with me for nearly two decades now.

I first read Lynne Twists a few months ago after two totally unrelated recommendations.

It came at a time when I was newly single, totally terrified of how I was going to make it all work, and still massively underwater emotionally, financially and logistically.

I never expected to be at this place in my life… I have owned multiple businesses, have known how to make money since I was fourteen when I started teaching piano lessons, and always used to feel “confident” with money.

But the last few years of my marriage and transitioning to a new career where receiving compensation for offering “healing” services did a lot of damage to my confidence. And, it turns out, I had always lived with underlying fears about not having enough… all of my “good habits” with money were really about making sure that I felt secure (which isn’t a bad thing, btw).

Enter Soul of Money. I began to recognize the scarcity mindset that was operating my financial decisions and the loss of financial autonomy that I had previously enjoyed. At the same time, I began learning a comprehensive new system for understanding and managing personal cash flow.

I am not kidding, this new combo of skills and mindset has saved my life. Miracle after miracle has entered my life, and my ability to receive AND release resources has dramatically increased.

It’s all built on a foundation of Enough (which is soooo connected to the Woman Whole Unto Herself).

Just a couple of years ago I was still desperately trying to pretend that all was well in my marriage and that my life was headed in the direction I was determined for it to go (stay married, have kids that reflect my values, be viewed as successful and capable in the world… hmm sounds like some enneagram 3 s**t! 😅).

I ended up going to my doctor because I had cried pretty much every day for around 6 months. When my hormone lab results came back “normal” I was practically disappointed… I would have preferred there to be a physical problem then to have to look more closely at what wasn’t working in my life.

As someone who has spent years doing therapy, somatic/embodiment work, couples retreats and LOTS of trainings, it was easy to think that I had left no stone unturned.

But the stone unturned was letting go of my need for external validation enough that I could begin to actually love the parts of me that I had rejected for so long. And for a long time I wanted to be able to say that I was able to accomplish that while staying in my marriage. That seemed like the ultimate goal.

I spent years trying to force loving myself from the outside. The things I did were still attempts at getting others to love/validate me. Whether I received the validation or not, the result was reinforcement that I was actually NOT worthy of my own love.

This journey (ongoing) to the Woman Whole Unto Herself has completely undone me. And it has awakened me, from the inside, to a version of myself that simply knows my worth. Where loving myself, and others, is instinctive, and not layered in desperation for validation.
