Nobody talks about how scary summer running actually is. So I’m going to.
All three weeks there was this quiet dread about training in the heat — not “I don’t want to,” more like “what if my body can’t handle this.” And if I’m honest, that fear probably made it easier to skip runs. It’s more comfortable to say “it’s too hot” than “I’m scared.”
I ran the race anyway. Scared the whole time, probably.
Not fearlessness. Doing it scared. That’s the actual skill.
🤍 Save this if you needed permission to do the scary thing anyway.
I found out about FSAs a couple years ago & I’m still a little annoyed nobody told me sooner.
Quick version: a Flexible Spending Account lets you set aside pre-tax money for medical expenses — including a lot of fitness stuff you’re probably already paying for. Running shoes. Physical therapy. Gym fees with a letter. Acupuncture. Massages for a medical condition.
Not everything qualifies. But more than you think does.
Also they expire at the end of the year which is extremely rude but that’s a whole other conversation.
Open enrollment is coming. This is your sign to look at it this year instead of skipping it.
💰 if you didn’t know this existed
😭 if you have one and forget to use it
(Both of you are here. I see you.)
Some weeks the recouple looks like nailing every goal.
Some weeks it looks like just showing up to Sunday without completely falling apart.
Both count.
Becoming her isn’t a straight line. It’s a series of decisions — most of them small, most of them quiet, most of them happening when no one is watching.
The run you almost skipped. The budget you checked even though you didn’t want to. The choice to reset instead of spiral.
She’s still being built. And so are you. 🤍
For a long time, I didn’t expect it either.
Not the running. Not the showing up. Not the deciding that this was just — something I do now.
The curvy runner identity wasn’t handed to me. I had to claim it. On slow miles and early mornings and days when it felt embarrassing to even try.
If you’re somewhere in that process right now — claiming a version of yourself that doesn’t fully feel like you yet — keep going. She’s being built. 🤍
The Financially Fit Starter Kit is for the person who already knows they need to get their finances together — they just haven’t had the right starting point yet.
Sunday check-in template. Monthly checkpoint. Reset guide. 30-day consistency tracker.
Not a get-rich-quick resource. A start-showing-up-consistently resource.
Comment FIT below and I’ll send it to you. 🤍
