The Austin Trail of Lights will open tonight, December 23rd, with an adjusted gate close time of 8:30 pm. All ticketholders attending the Trail should dress appropriately in multiple layers with focus on hands, face and head coverings for the frigid, near-record cold weather tonight. Guests should ensure their attendee group is planning for the outdoor walking experience which minimally includes 45 minutes to 1 hour at the Trail, plus any walking time from parking areas. On-site parking and shuttles are sold out for the evening. ⁣⁣

Pre-paid General Admission begins at 7 pm. All guests must enter the Trail prior to 8:30 pm. Shuttles will run from Toney Burger Center and Republic Square Park between 5:30 pm and 8 pm. The final shuttle will depart Trail of Lights at 9:30 pm. ⁣

Additionally, all live entertainment has been cancelled this evening and some activations and services will be limited.

Due to yesterday’s heavy rains and the lack of drying conditions since, Zilker Park is saturated and unable to support the Trail of Lights without posing safety risks and park damages. The City of Austin has closed the park and cancelled tonight’s Trail of Lights. ⁣

Ticketholders for tonight’s event will receive information regarding their refund shortly and patrons can view the website Calendar to purchase available tickets on alternate days.
