Race Re-Cap
🙌🏼
The 2019 Spartan Race World Champs were hard AF, yet so fun & amazingly beautiful at the same time.

I finished 12th. Not too bad against the worlds best, but it’s not even remotely close to what I had hoped for. I can accept it though and move on bc I know there really wasn’t anything else I could’ve done to improve that result.

I have enjoyed being in Tahoe for the World Champs every year since I began competing at this venue in 2015. I have given Squaw Valley everything I have the past 5 years and it just hasn’t been enough to reach my goal of a podium.

I know I have it in me, but maybe it’s finally time to admit that running 4 miles up a mountain/4 miles down a mountain followed by another 3 miles up a mountain/3 miles down a mountain just doesn’t suit me very much.

If it’s there once again in 2020 I’ll accept the challenge and continue to work on weaknesses. If the rumors are true and it changes locations, well then I welcome that idea too.
👌🏼🙌🏼
I still have a few other races on the calendar this year, but here’s to a pretty awesome season 🍻 and I’m excited about what’s to come and where this sport is headed.

There is a two hour weather delay
❄️
The Team is working hard to make sure that the course is how it should be, safe and ready for our racers to take on the mountain.

Congratulations on yet another amazing race!
🏃🏼‍♀️
“Audi Power of Four 50k was one of those races that started out hard then only got harder. I was still half asleep at 6am when the gun went off with a warning “alright we’re starting in 5 seconds guys and GO”, straight up the mountain, climbing over 3000’ in just under 3 miles right from the start. Climbs never got any less steep, descents were just as relentless, and even the last 6 miles that were supposed to go down somehow seemed to be climbing up most of the time.⁣

I wanted that Skyrunner winner bib so badly today, and moving into the first place position on the second climb left me looking over my shoulder for the rest of the race. It was one of those races that hurt in all the best ways possible, all of the time. There aren’t many firsts in life, and I know I’ll remember this first skyrace win for a long time to come.⁣

Already amazing day was made even better with crossing the finish line for his 25k race only minutes behind (I got a 3.5 hour head start), 14th overall. What an epic day! ⛰🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️⁣ Now time for some well deserved slices of pie 🍕 ⁣
