Yesterday morning I headed into Pittsburgh to capture moonset and sunrise. Both were a bust. This morning, I gave it another go, and this time they worked out perfectly.

Actually, I'd say better. If I had got the shot that I set out for yesterday, I probably wouldn't have gone out this morning. But I was looking for some redemption after clouds messed up the image I hoped for on Sunday morning, and I like this shot better than the one that I had planned.

A few days ago I shot a similar composition, but that one was from the Andy Warhol Bridge. That meant that more of the Trimont (the office building/apartments by the incline) was more or less right next to the upper station. This is a much cleaner view.

The thing that really puts this over the top though is the incline car on the tracks. A few days ago the incline wasn't even open when I was capturing this scene, and since the moon set later this morning, there were plenty of riders.

Lots more to come from today, including another view of the moon and incline that I never thought to capture...until today.
