Those words mean preparation. Resolve. Survival.

But today, they mean something more.

Memorial Day is not about sales, cookouts, or an extra day off.
It’s about remembering the men and women who never made it home. The ones who sacrificed everything so we would never have to sacrifice the freedoms we live with every day.

Because of them, our families gather safely.
Because of them, we speak freely.
Because of them, we live the lives we often take for granted.

Today we pause to remember those who answered the call and gave their tomorrow for our today.

Honor them. Remember them. Never forget them.

🚑 Junctional Hemorrhage

Not every massive bleed can be stopped with a tourniquet.

Bleeding in the:
▪️ Groin
▪️ Armpit
▪️ Neck

…requires FAST wound packing and direct pressure.

🩸 Key Steps:
1️⃣ Expose the wound completely
2️⃣ Pack deep with gauze/hemostatic gauze
3️⃣ Fill ALL dead space
4️⃣ Hold firm pressure for 3+ minutes
5️⃣ Reassess constantly

⚠️ Common Mistake:
“Covering” the wound instead of aggressively PACKING it.

If the bleed is high in the groin and a tourniquet fails:
➡️ PACK THE WOUND.

Seconds matter.

Schedule a group or in home training to be ready for the day you hope never comes.

1️⃣ Apply DIRECT PRESSURE (hard and steady)
2️⃣ Pack the wound (if it’s deep)
3️⃣ Use a tourniquet if it won’t stop

That’s it. No fancy gear required—just action.

In a real emergency, hesitation is the enemy.
