Monday's Throwback
Ten+ years later and nothing has changed — Raegan has always been a mama’s baby.
This picture of her at 8 months old, sleeping on my shoulder, is still who she is today. My girl has grown, she’s braver, stronger, wiser… but that soft place she finds in me has never shifted.
Through hospital stays, hard days, victories, and everything in between — she still curls into me the same way. And I still hold her with the same love.
Some bonds don’t fade. They deepen. And ours is one of them. 💜

Sickle cell affects every part of the body — including the eyes. Today, Raegan’s exam showed early sickle‑cell–related retinal changes. Not dangerous, but important enough to monitor closely.
This is why eye exams matter. Sickle cell retinopathy can begin silently, even in childhood, and early detection protects vision long‑term.
I wrote a new blog sharing what we learned today, the medical research behind sickle cell eye complications, and why these appointments should never be skipped.
