Today we’re looking back to our work on the WMATA 6 Yellow/Blue Lines at Eisenhower Metro Station.

Strum Contracting Company furnished and installed conduit support frames, access platform gratings, repaired girder web holes and removed and replaced conduit cable trough covers.

We are proud to be a part of projects that positively impact our community.

- This week we are dedicating our Throwback Thursday to the announcement of the awarding of a $22.9 million American Rescue Plan Good Jobs Challenge grant for the Maryland Department of Labor (Labor) to implement a new apprenticeship model to support the region’s growing offshore wind industry.

“This funding will ensure that Maryland employers and jobseekers stand ready to meet the demands of the flourishing offshore wind industry, which is expected to create more than 10,000 jobs in the State of Maryland and yield an economic impact of nearly $3 billion over the next 20 years in the Baltimore area and Central Maryland alone,” said Governor Hogan.

We were more than happy to be present for the announcement by Governor Larry Hogan along with federal officials at Tradepoint Atlantic.

Strum Contracting is headed to Germany! Our CEO Teaera Strum has been invited to speak at the 11th Economic Forum for Offshore Wind, located on the island Heligoland in front of the German coast from September 7-8, 2022.

The development of offshore wind energy in Germany and Europe creates a lot of chances and challenges for the industry. The Economic Forum provides an unique frame enabling the industry to meet once a year to discuss actual challenges, define short and midterm tasks and goals, encourage networking among the market participants, optimize and accelerate processes, and set new impulses for the boundary conditions.

Strum will be joining to speak on a panel about how the United States of America and Germany can cooperate to achieve offshore wind targets in both countries.
