21. I can’t believe that our eldest son is 21 today. This wonderful child who came into our lives and made us parents 21 years ago today.

What a blessing and a joy you are. I am so proud of the man you are becoming. You’re brilliant. You’re hilarious. You’re insightful. You’re that balanced older brother for your siblings. You’re inquisitive. You’re developing into a very good writer. Sakari, you are our joy. We love you and the man you are!

Jasmine () and I met on a Zoom, arranged by Nicole Finigan Ndzibah (), during COVID. Nicole wanted to connect her two like-minded friends that she just knew would gel. And she was right.

Jasmine changed my life. I discovered because of Jasmine, served on the Fuller Student Council because of her nomination. And in different cohorts, both of us experienced the Transformation Center together and were pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago in Spain.

Jasmine continues to pave the way as a contemplative preacher (something I was practicing but had no terms to define) and is walking in one of her callings as a Spiritual Director (which I am pursuing, as well).

She’s always supportive, cheering me on as I move along this journey called life and ministry.

In a nutshell, Jasmine is all that and a bag of chips not only for me, but for so many more in this vast community God has created for her.
