What a lovely discovery hidden behind a wall and celing of a bathroom.. Whoever built this additional bathroom cut 8 of the floor joist in almost half in some cases to make more room!!!
The last photo Is The wall sitting on the failing drain pipe..

Needless to say we stoped in our tracks and Requested a structural engineer make a visit.

This is a before and after of a Deck I did. I Demo’d the old deck and built new.

I was working on a new clients home and she really liked what I did for her and while I was there her sister called and they began to talk about the work and her sister had recently had Home Depot come install a entry door and storm door for her.

The issue-

She wasn’t happy and said there was cold air coming in worse then the old doors. I go take a look and both doors are installed incorrectly. The storm door has a gap above it I could stick my hand through and the entry door was jammed tight To the hinge side and had a 3/8” Gap on the latch side barely touching the weather stripping.

The fix-
I removed and reinstalled the storm door correctly. Now there is no more large gap across the head which was allowing a lot of air to freely come in. This door has a double weather strip that wasn’t being used across the head.

Then I moved to the inside entry door.
I unscrewd the hinges, I built them out so there was a even gap on both sides. I installed a new screw applied weather strip around the door. I sealed up all the corners and made sure there was no light around the door at all. When you opened the door now you actually heard the suction of the seal..

I run into shotty work from Home Depot often.
This client called them to see what was going on and they sent a guy out to look and he said it was all ok. Everytime I’ve ran into shotty Home Depot work it’s been women that were taken advantage of. This client paid ALOT of money to have these doors installed like that..

I am as fair as I can be. I do not condone taking advantage of anybody especially women who are victims of this a lot.

This is a client we’ve done work for before. She works from home often and is also a Mom. She was finding herself getting distracted and wanted to make her little nook into an actual office with some privacy. She wanted a Barn door and LVP flooring in her office. Here’s before and after photos. They plan to finish painting the basement and continuing the LVP floor as well in the future.
