said if the energy ain’t there we gotta run it back.

The Mayor definitely brought the energy to our Day of Action, and I’m carrying that momentum, excitement, and sense of community with me into the week ahead.

When people come together around a shared vision for our neighborhoods, there’s no limit to what we can accomplish. Thank you to everyone who showed up, volunteered, knocked doors, and spent time connecting with neighbors. This movement continues to grow because of you.

Big thanks again to all the SEIU folks who are out talking to their neighbors to ensure that the 41st has better representation.

Let’s keep building, keep organizing, and keep moving District 41 forward together. 💙✊🏾

Every day, when I’m out in the community, I hear the same thing over and over again:

The Ruff Riders and I are the only ones showing up.

We’re knocking on doors. We’re attending neighborhood association meetings. We’re volunteering at food giveaways. We’re listening to residents and doing the work to move our communities forward.

My opponent wants to make this race about something it is not. She wants people to believe that my willingness to speak out about her indictment is rooted in religious differences. It isn’t.

I have spent my career fighting for people from every background, every faith, and every walk of life. My commitment has always been to justice, fairness, and doing what is right.

This race is not about religion. It is not about identity.

It’s about showing up.

It is about right and wrong.

It is about accountability.

And it is about whether the people of the 41st District deserve a State Senator they can trust to represent their values and interests with integrity.

I will not back down from speaking the truth, and I will not stop fighting until the people of this district have the representation they deserve in the State Senate.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our second Day of Action!

From volunteering at the food giveaway in Allendale, to knocking doors and talking with neighbors, to helping community members access second chances through our expungement clinic, yesterday was a reminder of what is possible when people come together in service of one another.

I am especially grateful to for standing with us and for his powerful words about what our continued partnership can mean for the future of the 41st District. Together, we have already delivered real results for our communities, and we share a vision for building safer neighborhoods, creating pathways to work, wages, and wealth, and ensuring every family has the opportunity to thrive.

Progress doesn’t happen because of one person. It happens because a community decides to show up, get involved, and fight for a better future.

Thank you to every volunteer, supporter, community leader, and resident who spent part of their Saturday with us. Your energy, commitment, and belief in what we can accomplish together continues to move our district forward.

Let’s keep building.

Being amongst the people on Saturday for our Day of Action was incredible!

And to everyone who couldn’t make it because they were gathered at for festivities, thank you for still sending your love and support. Continuing the long-standing traditions surrounding Preakness (the events, gatherings, and celebrations) is important to preserving the legacy of the race and the community that surrounds it.

As a strong supporter of both Pimlico Race Course and the Preakness, I appreciate y’all for helping keep the tradition alive while the new track is being built.

Next year, the races are coming back home to Pimlico, right in the heart of Park Heights, where I grew up.
Since I couldn’t join the festivities this year, I wanted to share a little throwback to 2024, when I worked with to pass HB1524, the Preakness Bill, a historic 10% profit-sharing agreement with the horse racing industry guaranteed through the Pimlico redevelopment plan.

“When Preakness makes a dollar, we make 10 cents.
When Preakness makes a million, we make a hundred thousand.”

Next year, we’ll finally get to experience what it looks like when a neighborhood receives its fair share.
And to our equestrian family in Laurel, thank you for your support this year and for helping to keep the tradition going.

I’m deeply honored to earn the endorsement of my friend and our governor , in my campaign to become your next State Senator.

From our annual RUFFHouse Juneteenth Celebration to bringing back more than $12.1 million in investments for District 41, our shared commitment has always been about building safer neighborhoods, expanding opportunity, and creating pathways to work, wages, and wealth for our communities.

I’m grateful for the Governor’s trust and partnership, and I look forward to continuing this work together for the people of District 41.

There are certain organizations that quietly pour into communities year after year because they genuinely care about the people they serve.

That’s why it meant so much to me to present with this $45,000 investment in support of the incredible work they continue to do for families and residents throughout Beechfield and beyond.

Places like Shiloh are safe havens, gathering spaces, and support systems for people navigating some of life’s hardest moments.

I believe we have a responsibility to continue investing in the institutions that have long invested in us.

It’s been an honor to be lead this work that will ensure a brighter future for every community in the 41st District.

For decades, grassroots organizations and faith leaders have gone before funding committees across the city and made their cases for why they are best suited to meet the needs of the communities they serve. Yet, time and time again have been passed up on such opportunities in lieu of support for national companies and organizations.

As your Delegate and future state Senator, I’m here to stand on business and uphold neighborhood warriors who are changing Baltimore for the better.

, it was a pleasure to present you all with this long overdue investment. Thank you for being spiritual leaders to a nation. This was more than deserved!

…Let’s go 41st! It’s time to get to work.

It brought me deep happiness and a true sense of honor to award a $650K capital investment last Saturday.

I am proud to help schools that are often or deprioritize to get the funding they have long deserved. This work is about recognizing the potential that lives inside every student and is fostered in classrooms that reflect that promise. When we invest in our schools, we’re investing in confidence, safety, and the belief our young people will carry with them for the rest of their lives.

Fallstaff has long been a place where educators show up with heart and students show up with determination. This investment is my opportunity to match their energy with real resources so they’re not just getting by, but truly set up to thrive.

I am proud to stand with this community and to continue building a stronger future for the next generation in the 41st District.

Our Maryland Voting Rights Act legislation passed and was signed into law by the Governor this past Tuesday. It puts into Maryland law many of the protections that the U.S. Supreme Court stripped away yesterday in its lopsided judicial opinions reminiscent of Jim Crow justice.

While some characterized my impassioned speech as overly dramatic, I knew what was at stake and “we saw this one coming”.

We secured final approval of the Maryland Voting Rights Act on final passage in the House of Delegates on the very last day of the legislative session with just two minutes to spare over the boisterous protests of House Republicans who attempted to filibuster and run out the clock.

From banning Black history books to rolling back Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs, many of our Republican colleagues, along with some right-leaning leaders within my own 41st District delegation, are marching in lockstep with Donald Trump’s war based on his alignment with causes they support. We must see the handwriting on the wall as clearly as we see our city and our district defaced with graffiti.

My bid to become your next State Senator is not driven by ego or backroom deals with developers and land speculators. It is driven by my earnest concern that we must call out the greed and disregard for the law currently being displayed in Washington, D.C., and now being mirrored here at home.

That is why your vote for me and The People’s Team is so important. Let us know we can count on your support.

Truly getting to know the residents of my district and helping them to find solutions to personal problems brings me great joy. It was an honor to assist Lakinda Camper through her personal obstacles and then later assist her in taking on the fight for others with her submission of her bond bills.

As politicians I believe that the community knows it’s needs best and with the right investments can create innovative solutions.

This is what community empowerment looks like.

Let’s make the 41st stronger together!
