𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿’𝘀 𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻?
The Insurance Journal reports today that the first 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝘁𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝟭𝟭 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟭𝟲 𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘀. According to AccuWeather, this season will be “slightly below average.”

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀:
🌀 4 – 7 hurricanes are predicted
🌀 2 – 4 major hurricanes (Category 3 or greater)
🌀 The weather pattern known as El Nino creates wind shear which disrupts the formation of hurricanes.

𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗵, 𝗯𝘂𝘁: Both the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico have higher than average water temperatures and this leads to the formation of stronger storms.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗱𝗼: Hurricane preparedness is critical as multiple storms could make landfall in the United States this season. "Even if it's expected to be a slightly below average hurricane season, we can still see major hits across the United States,” said AccuWeather’s Alex DaSilva.
