Court Positioning 101: Angle Your Body and Paddle
Good court positioning isn’t only about where you stand.
It’s also about how you prepare your body and paddle once you get there.
In this point, I back up to buy myself time on defense, but the real difference-maker happens as I move forward. By angling my shoulders, hips, feet and paddle toward the ball, I’m better able to see the shot clearly and better prepared to hit the next shot.
Small details like this are what help turn good positioning into better ex*****on.

CALLING ALL BATON ROUGE PICKLEBALLERS!
2 Weeks to Tournament Confidence 🏆
The Baton Rouge Showdown is coming up May 29–31 at Stacks Pickleball, and tournament day always feels different. The pace is faster. The pressure is higher. Every point matters.
That’s why we created 2 Weeks to Podium — a focused 4-session bootcamp designed to help DUPR 3.0–4.0 players prepare for tournament play in a more systematic, confident way.
Over two weeks, we’ll work on the things that matter when the score gets tight: positioning, shot selection, point construction, partner movement, and playing with a clear plan instead of just hoping your game shows up.
I’ll be leading the clinic, and my goal is simple: help you walk into tournament weekend feeling more prepared, more composed, and more confident in what you’re trying to do on the court.
Clinic starts next Tuesday. Only 3 spots remain.
If you’re playing in the Baton Rouge Showdown — or you simply want to start learning how to prepare like a tournament player — this is the time to get intentional.

Pickleball Court Positioning 101: Move Together to Minimize Gaps
Proper court positioning can be the difference between winning and losing a point, game, or match — at any level.
In doubles, your job isn’t just to cover your side. It’s to move with your partner based on where the ball goes and what shots your opponent can most easily hit.
In this point, I hit the ball wide, so my responsibility is to protect the line. But watch my partner slide over with me to cover the middle and make sure we don’t leave a gap.
That’s more than just good teamwork. That's smart court positioning.
And that’s how we turn knowledge into wins.

Grateful to Represent Chorus Pickleball
I’m excited and truly grateful to share that I’m now a Chorus Pickleball-sponsored player.
Chorus is a small company based in the Dallas area with a mission that started simply: helping more people get introduced to pickleball — even by offering free paddles to encourage new players to try the sport.
Over the past several months, I’ve tested a lot of full foam paddles, hoping to find one that gave me the power, forgiveness, and lightweight feel full foam is known for — without sacrificing feel.
I finally found it in the Chorus Coda.
This paddle gives me the benefits I was looking for: lightweight feel, forgiveness, power, and most importantly, great feel.
I’m honored to play with the Coda and grateful for the opportunity to represent Chorus Pickleball.
Thank you, Chorus Pickleball
Local pickleball friends: DM me if you’re interested in demoing these paddles.

Poaching fundamentals in pickleball: It’s not always about hitting winners.
Poaching Fundamentals in Pickleball: It's Not Always About Hitting Winners
Not every poach has to end the point. Sometimes the smartest poach is the shot you take when you recognize you're in a better position on the court than your partner. Even if it doesn't end the point, it's the smart play if it winds up being an easier shot for you than for your partner.
When your partner has to back up to hit an overhead, watch the quality of their shot. If it produces a neutral/offensive result, then you should look to close the net and take the next shot if it's through the middle. Why? Because you're in a better position than they are right after the overhead is struck.
That recognition turns a difficult shot for your partner into a much easier shot for you.
