Today is one of the worst days in music history. The young, brilliant guitarist and co-founder of The Blizzard of Ozz and Quiet Riot tragically passed away in a plane crash.

We are not going to get mired in the details of his death, people know what happened. Today is a celebration of Randy Rhoads’ life, what he achieved in such a short period of time, and his everlasting impact on guitar and music.

We promised something the fans are going to love, and we believe this delivers AND we have more coming. Here is the first piece: a snippet of “Mr. Crowley” from the Holy Grail rehearsals, with Bill Hunt on it, I believe. Here is Randy playing the solo during rehearsal.

From Bob's page..
"In memory of the great Randy Rhoads and the tragic loss of such a brilliant talent. Now, 44 years later, I would like to share a snippet from my ‘Holy Grail’ tapes that features his brilliance. This early outro to Mr Crowley was recorded when we were at Monmouth, on the border of England and Wales, late 1979. We were still writing the songs and trying out different ideas but Randy really shines in this, even though he was still experimenting and ‘feeling his way’. Long Live the memory of Randy Rhoads!

For the Diary Of A Madman Tour keyboardist Don Airey was called by Ozzy Osbourne’s management to come aboard.
Don would agree only if he could be onstage with the band. At first, Ozzy said no. He was told that he would be placed offstage behind the amplifier cabinets.
Airey said that he wasn’t interested. After some thought, Ozzy called Don back and informed him that he would be placed inside the stage right battlement where he could see and hear the band.
Not bad for the guy that never got credit for writing that classic intro for “Mr Crowley”. 😀
