In honor of Juneteenth, authors Angela A. Allen-Bell and Kim Jones will explore their books, “Under Indictment: Race, Juries and Justice in Louisiana” and “Bayou Renaissance: Keeping Les Cenelles Alive,” highlighting race, justice, and the rich African American history and heritage of Louisiana.

Marla Dickerson, ’s Vice Chancellor of Innovation and Strategic Partnerships and Initiatives, represented Southern University Law Center in Kumasi, Ghana, alongside fellow SULC alumni Judge Tarvald Smith, Brilliant Clayton, Patricia Delpit, and Southern University Alumni Federation Assistant Director Michelle Jones.

During their visit, the group met with the Dean and Faculty of Law at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), engaged with government officials, a village Queen Mother, and a Chief in the Ashanti Kingdom, and donated school supplies to local students.

Southern University Law Center looks forward to establishing a mutually beneficial partnership with FACULTY OF LAW - KNUST that will enrich faculty and student experiences, and expand upon the longstanding 30-year partnership between Southern University and KNUST.
