It’s a belly laugh kind of medicine.
It may feel uncomfortable at first, but if you push yourself, JOY is on the other side and we promise we’ll be there to keep you growing!

HeART Work 🎯✔️
The Program for Intellectual Empowerment in Beaverton is one of our favorite community partners. These three gentlemen share why. They are not in a building being managed all day, they are creating, sharing, connecting and contributing in community.
We are so inspired by this model, and their courage and kindness to share their art - because of the opportunities created by Unified Art Studio for Events + Youth and Artful Autism | Neurodivergent Empowerment & Support
This is the target. 🎯
Unique gifts and joy spread around the community through shared moments like this one. Many of their artist were able to sell their artwork to our community at our June Miah Meet Up! 🎯 What an honor to connect good people doing big, good HeART work! Thank you PIE!

It’s ok to be angry….
What will you do next?
Are you a victim or will you get up and keep moving forward?
Parenting a child with a disability takes a courageous spirit of grit & strength like no other. Finding the balance between faith and hope in people to be kind, plus the possibility and attitude to know that may not always be the case. How will your child respond? How will you respond?
Parents: Do you agree?
⏩ What did your parent teach you?
Share your story with us. And please, be the different one. Be kind. Offer help, take help, help is how we create hope.

“I’m going to get my friends!”
Now that it’s summertime here in Oregon, and our Meet Ups can be outside, one of our favorite things is watching the passer by people - stop and drop in.
Out for a bike ride, these gentlemen grabbed a gaggle of friends and joined us for a sweet afternoon of inclusion. Children and young families are such a huge part of the Miah mission, not just because of the joy, creativity and energy children bring - because this is how we raise up a community that values and prioritizes places where people can be different and better together.
Our next Meet Up is July 20 at Mountain View Champions Park, 9-11 AM - grab your friends and join us!

Who do you know that knows good stuff?
One of the missions we have here at Miah is to connect curiosity and compassion among generations.
We all have beautiful, different experiences and knowledge in different areas and it’s truly a joy and part of community care when we… care…and ask questions.
Cindy is on the Board of Directors here at Miah, a CPA, and a rodeo extraordinaire. She has attended every one of our meet-ups and pours many hours into helping our vision grow. We are so thankful for her.
If you know a senior with a gold nugget of wisdom to share about something remarkable, let us know, we’d love to feature them! Different is better together!
