My final piece for Briscoe Museum Night of Artists 2026:

NO GUTS NO GLORY, 18x24, oil on linen panel. Opening night and lottery purchase takes place March 28th.

I realize this piece will probably turn some viewers off. I hope not - because this is just nature. However, I saw such beauty in the morning light glowing through the thin flesh of the carcass. It literally stopped me in my tracks. Add to it one of my favorite birds - a magpie - and I could not resist painting this scene. I had so much fun painting this.
