Today is the "international day of sport for development and peace," April 6th, 2026.

Sport is a way to gather, play games, learn about other cultures and find a sense of belonging to each other. Its more than winning, it's a LEARNING experience.

Join us as we celebrate this powerful day to promote PEACE and DEVELOPMENT of our fellow humans (especially women and youth). We at Whatcom WAVES seek climate, racial and social justice through sports! Come be a part of our women's empowerment organization!

Thank you to the City of Bellingham's tourism "seed" funds for helping to make last week's "world water day" at SPLASH!down a success!

We at Whatcom Waves are a women's empowerment organization that seeks climate, racial and social justice through sports. It is with great honor, responsibility, and humbleness from our small volunteer group to have hosted 170+ people for the indoor soccer tournament!

Big shout out to for bringing the Seattle ladies for a second year in a row! We'll see you again next March 20th 2027~
