Join us for Explorations Academy’s 3rd Annual Fall Harvest Chili Cook-Off Fundraiser — a community celebration of flavor, fun, and fall!

⏰ Tasting begins at 5 PM | Winners announced at 7 PM

🔥 Sample over 20 homemade chilis and vote for your favorites in the People’s Choice and Best Spice categories! Enjoy games, raffles, local brews, live music, and plenty of cozy fall vibes.

Whatcom’s Newest Classroom Is Wild.

Thanks to Whatcom Land Trust, the Jay family, Whatcom Million Trees, Whatcom Transportation Authority, and Explorations Academy, 13 acres of wetland forest and salmon habitat on Kinney Creek, a tributary of the Sumas River in Whatcom County, WA, have been protected forever. This land will host a living laboratory for ecological restoration, climate resilience research, sustainable agriculture, and developing connections with nature as a field campus for Explorations Academy students.

Senior Spotlight on Octavious Bass, who was awarded the Bellingam Sister Sister Peace Grant to travel to Japan for a month and conduct citizen diplomacy. Octavious used this opportunity to study a beautiful art form known as ukishoebori. He shared about the history of the craft and some of his incredible first attempts during his capstone presentation! We can’t wait to see where Octavious’ passion and creativity will take lead him. Next stop, Whitman College!
