I painted this while ago but it’s still very relevant. It’s a basketball jersey as an ode to the Orisha Warrior and homage to the Golden State Warriors (my hometown team) who both share the same colors of blue and yellow. As an afroCuban living in Miami with a high population who practice santeria/ Ifa. Plus the Miami Heat just Lost this Years NBA Championships after an incredible year. All of these factors inspired this creation and my desire to share this image again. It’s the intersectionality of culture, identity, spirituality and sports. They say to call on Ochosi when facing issues of justice, police, court system and support up holding truth. As a “woke” person living in Florida you know i’m calling on him now more than ever to aim his arrows towards the target of Justice.
