The State Department just raised Jamaica to Level 3, Reconsider Travel, at the peak of summer. It is the second time in eight months.

Before you cancel anything: most of the Caribbean is still Level 1, the same level as most of Europe. Only one island in the region is at Level 4.

We put the current level for every Caribbean island in one place 👇

🏝️ Best vs. Worst Caribbean Beaches 🌊

Not every famous beach lives up to the hype. 👀

👎 Why these made the “worst” list:
• Junkanoo Beach – Can feel overcrowded, especially when cruise ships are in port.
• Boca Chica Beach – Often criticized for aggressive vendors and heavy crowds.
• Mambo Beach – More of a beach club atmosphere than a peaceful Caribbean escape.
• Doctor’s Cave Beach – Beautiful water, but can be packed and has an entrance fee.
• Seven Mile Beach (Negril) – Stunning, but persistent beach vendors can impact the experience.
• Orient Bay – Can be very windy, with seaweed at certain times of year.
• Cane Garden Bay – Busy on cruise days and can get crowded quickly.
• Dickenson Bay – Water sports, vendors, and crowds take away from the tranquil vibe.
• Magens Bay – Gorgeous, but cruise ship days often mean long lines and limited space.
• Palm Beach – Beautiful but lined with high-rise resorts, making it one of Aruba’s busiest beaches.

Remember: “Worst” doesn’t mean bad—it just means these beaches tend to have the most consistent complaints from travelers.

👇 Which beach do you think deserves a different spot on the list?
