5 questions to ask yourself before you decide “do I stay at or leave my toxic job?”…
1️⃣ 𝗪𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮?
⚡️Naming the emotions you feel and understanding where they are coming from is critical in problem solving.
⚡️ Are the triggers fixable? Deal breakers?
2️⃣ 𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞?
⚡️Safety is a must! How are the working conditions?
⚡️Have you been victim to workplace violence, harassment or assault?
⚡️Are you adequately trained for the work expectations? Never put your license on the line.
3️⃣ 𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲?
⚡️If so talk to them! They could offer you perspective, help with solutions, offer support and help with clarity for action taking
4️⃣ 𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐚 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐝𝐚𝐲?
⚡️On your best days do you enjoy your role? Like the core things, your type of unit, care you provide, schedule, patient population/ specialty etc?
5️⃣ 𝐈𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐭 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐤?
⚡️ No job is worth your mental health!
⚡️ Sometimes PTO can help us reset and get clear on what our needs are. Use it!
⚡️ You don’t need to suffer in silence, you aren’t alone and burnout/overwhelm is not permanent
