We are excited to welcome Sara Bornstein, Ph.D. to Serlin Haley as our new Legislative Technologist.

Sara joins our research team with an exceptional blend of academic rigor and technical expertise. She recently earned her Ph.D. in Political Science and Research Methodology from The George Washington University, where her work focused on American politics, local government, and survey research. She also holds degrees in political science and public relations from Hofstra University.

In this role, Sara will help us continue to strengthen the tools, systems, and analytical capabilities that support our 50-state practice. Her unique ability to bridge legislative research and technology will enhance the insights and service we provide to clients across the country.

Wishing Gina Spaziani the best of luck on Monday as she runs her 7th Boston Marathon.

Each year brings a different meaning, and this one is especially important — supporting fellow CharityTeams runners and honoring her friend Susan Hurley through hashtag . Susan’s impact continues to be felt by so many, and this run is a meaningful way to carry that forward.

Holiday cheer was in full supply last week 🎄

Pierce Haley had the chance to take part in Eastie’s Elves, hosted by the Madaro Charity, and the DiDomenico Foundation Christmas Toy Drive — two events filled with generosity, smiles, and the true spirit of the season.

It’s wonderful to spend time with organizations doing such meaningful work for families and kids, and a great reminder of how powerful community can be this time of year.

Seeing two tractor-trailers filled with thousands of turkeys rolling through Dorchester and Mattapan was a sight to behold. At the 5th Annual Worrell Turkey Drive, more than 4,000 turkeys were distributed across 10 community stops to help families head into Thanksgiving with one less worry.

A huge thank-you to State Representative Christopher Worrell and Boston City Councilor Brian Worrell for leading this effort and bringing the community together in such a meaningful way.

Please join us in welcoming Gina Spaziani as our new Chief Financial Officer!

Gina joined the firm earlier this year, bringing more than 35 years of financial leadership experience in Massachusetts state government, higher education, and transportation. She most recently served as Chief Business Officer and Associate Vice-President of Fiscal Affairs at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, where she oversaw financial operations, audits, compliance, and grants management. Before that, she was Deputy Chief Financial Officer at the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) and held senior roles across the state’s public higher education system.

Her career began at the Massachusetts State House, where she worked as a legislative page, aide, and budget analyst for the House Ways and Means Committee. Gina is a two-time graduate of Suffolk University, earning both her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and her MBA, and has continued to give back as an adjunct instructor and volunteer visiting executive.

We are thrilled to welcome Gina’s expertise and leadership to our team.
