This is me at 40 years old.

Possibly the best shape of my life.

And wiser than ever.

I’ve made more mistakes than I can count. And undoubtedly I’ll make numerous more in the next 40 years.

One thing I know for sure,

I’m not slowing down.

I know I’m in alignment because more people then ever reach out to me for help getting unstuck.

And if I don’t keep going, keep growing, keep improving, I won’t have the capacity to help them.

Here’s to entering my fifth decade 🥂 LFG

Your brain’s main job is to keep you safe and protected. Some prime directives of the unconscious mind are:

- Preserves the body
- Runs the body
- Stores memories (especially the ones that threatened you in the past)
- Is the domain of emotions
- Takes everything personally
- Works on the principle of least effort (keeps you repeating the same thoughts and behaviors because change is more energy consuming then reflexive behavior)

Is it energy consuming to think differently and plan out your future?

YES

But when you do, you allow yourself to move forward towards the thing you want, instead of your brain defaulting you back to the way it’s always been. Yes there’s conscious effort involved in this change process. And once you make the unconscious conscious, you have access to changing it and updating your the outdated software of the brain that’s no longer working for you.

Identity and Beliefs inform Behaviors

To change your behaviors so they come into alignment with the outcomes you want, you need to start BEing the version of your Self that has that outcome.

Try this exercise:

1. What are the top 5 qualities and/or characteristics of the person who has the outcome I want? (For example - Confident, powerful, consistent, etc)

2. Reflect on your daily habits and ask yourself what you need to change to be those qualities. How can you do something different to be consistent, etc?
