Tori + Roscoe have that perfectly witty, perfectly charming kind of love that feels simple in the best way. From the first time we spoke we could feel it. There is an old love between them. The kind that has room for a jab or two and a grin that follows right behind it. Tori + Roscoe move easily through the world together. It could be a shoulder bump on the sidewalk or a laugh that spills out before either of them finishes the joke. It’s the kind of rhythm you only find when two people have really settled into each other.

The film “When Harry Met Sally” kept drifting through our minds while we filmed the two of them. That same sense of wandering through the city with nowhere urgent to be. A little comedy tucked into the moments they share. A little nostalgia humming under the surface. Because there is as much tenderness between them as there is lightness. For their story session we leaned into that feeling. Anamorphic lenses on our digital cameras gave everything that wide cinematic sweep. Then we pulled out a monstrously sized VHS camera that has seen better decades.

We wanted this piece of their story to feel playful and a little scrappy. A love story wandering through the city with pizza boxes and sidewalk jokes. That tone sits beside their wedding footage which we captured with digital and Super 8 film. The contrast felt right for them.

Something enduring lives between these two. The kind of love that echoes the long marriage Tori watched growing up with her grandparents (more on that in their highlight film!!). Something lively lives there too. The kind of spark you feel while you slowly meander down a Manhattan boulevard when the whole city seems to be moving quickly all around you.

Somewhere between those two things is Tori + Roscoe. And that space is a joy for us to film.
