When school's out, the child care crisis doesn't take a break. Summer programs are a key form of child care for elementary-age children and those in school-based preschools that don't operate in summer, yet enriching options remain out of reach for far too many families.

Every child deserves that chance, not just those whose families can afford it.

The Global Day of Parents highlights the essential role that parents play in raising their children. It acknowledges that families have the primary responsibility for nurturing and protecting their children. For children to thrive, they need to grow up in environments filled with happiness, love, and understanding.

Established by the General Assembly in 2012, this day provides an opportunity to appreciate parents for their selfless dedication and lifelong sacrifices for their children.
