Today as many families are getting ready for their Thanksgiving feast, we are sharing this McDonough family photo from Lauren's family archive. Here is her grandmother prepping what looks like a cake mix and her great-grandmother washing dishes.

There is no date on this photo, but just for fun, we looked up the backprinting on the Paul Messier Historic Photographic Papers Collection Backprinting Project website (backprinting.com). By matching the Kodak "Velox" backprinting, we were able to narrow the date down to the early 1940s.

We thought we would share this truly great image that we treated a while ago. This photograph shows American and French soldiers, including American Oscar Calmeise (center right), in 1918 during WWI.

Oscar Calmeise was a member of the 372nd Infantry Regiment.

Swipe to see the before treatment image. The treatment involved surface cleaning, local consolidation and flattening of the creases, overall flattening of the photograph, and image loss compensation.
