Our Story
The Northeastern University chapter of Engineers Without Borders (EWB-NEU) is part of the national non-profit organization Engineers Without Borders-USA. The main focus of this student chapter is to bring a clean, sustainable projects to villages in developing countries.
The Northeastern chapter is divided into three committees: Guatemala, Uganda and Panama. In 2009, EWB-NEU began working in Bbanda, a town in the Mityana District of south-central Uganda. Since completing our project in Bbanda, the Uganda program has moved to working in Nakyenyi. In the Spring of 2015, we began our new program in Panama working on a drinking water distribution system. Additionally, EWB-NEU just started working in Guatemala on a school house in 2018!
We are always looking for new members and volunteers. The Guatemala Committee meets every Tuesday at 7:00pm in 300 Richards. The Uganda Committee meets every Monday at 7:00pm in 300 Richards. The Panama Committee meets every Thursday at 7:00pm in 300 Richards. On the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month, a fundraising meeting is held in 300 Richards at 7pm.
