What started in a basement in Germany has grown into a global movement. A math teacher read that hundreds of millions of people could not afford glasses and decided to do something about it. The result? A pair of glasses made from flexible wire and shatterproof lenses that can be produced without electricity, costs about a dollar, and has now reached over a million people in 11 countries. That teacher is Martin Aufmuth, and that organization is GoodVision.

The $1 Visionary Realizing that glasses could transform millions of lives, a teacher created an incredibly cheap, durable pair. Now, they’re all over the world.

Two friends. Same village. Same problem. Same solution.

Fula (62) and Fula (61), neighbors from Benora village in Nabarangpur, both struggled with blurry distance vision. Every day they walked into the forest together to collect wood. Poor sight made the paths harder to navigate and the work less safe.

Care Netram came to their Panchayat. Both women got their eyes checked and received glasses the same day. Now they walk the forest paths together and they can see every step clearly.
