New Episode Alert! Ep. 84 Separation Nation: This week, you’ll hear about getting , claims that BPS admins have been sharing student info with ICE, and recent stats showing that there are more guns in the U.S. than there are people. In the 360 topic, Separation Nation (33:50), Keesa & Djevna talk about the horrific reality of tender age shelters, a direct result of this administration’s “zero tolerance” immigration policy. The policy pushes for the full enforcement of legal prosecution against families who attempt to cross the border, resulting in the separation of thousands of children from their parents/guardians. Is a crack down on illegal immigration ever an excuse for ignoring basic human rights? Melania’s recent fashion choices claim she might not care, but we do and so should you. New Episode Alert! Ep. 83 Take a Knee to Take a Stand: This week, you’ll hear about Trump making it easier to tell federal employees “you’re fired!”, Kanye and Pusha T’s controversial album cover photo choice, and how 80s Babies are officially the brokest generation. In the 360 topic (36:46), Keesa & Djevna talk about NFL’s new policy requiring on-field players and personnel to stand for the national anthem. This new policy stems from the continued protests that started after Colin Kaepernick decided to take a knee to protest the poor treatment of minorities in the U.S. You can’t help but wonder if race plays a part when a fellow NFL player, Tim Tebow, was praised for doing the exact same thing. One could argue that they were both advocating for beliefs that value all life, so why was Colin’s kneel received so poorly? New Episode Alert! Ep. 81 I Know When that Hotline Bling...: This week, you’ll hear about the riots turned deadly in Gaza, why your AT&T payments might be lining the pockets of Trump’s lawyer, and the latest case of Melania allegedly plagiarizing with her “Be Best” campaign. In the 360 topic, “I Know When that Hotline Bling...” (34:20), Keesa & Djevna talk about the latest string of incidents resulting in the unnecessary involvement of law enforcement. People of color can’t shop, leave Airbnbs, or go on college tours without running the risk of being perceived as a threat. It’s hard to think race doesn’t play a factor when minding your own business is a cause for concern. Who decides who or what is “normal” in different environments? At what point do we start judging and taking actions against those who waste law enforcement’s time and resources for frivolous claims? One recent Twitter thread even claims that white people calling the cops is an intentional tactic of gentrification to gain power under the guise of safety concerns, but check out the episode to hear our thoughts and if you love it, LIKE and share! https://buff.ly/2k2QzAm

New Episode Alert! Ep. 80 Knuck if You Starbucks: This week, you’ll hear why Zuckerberg is in the hot seat over user data, how a late night meal meal turned deadly with another mass shooting in TN, and NYC’s desire to give the right to vote back to paroled felons. In the 360 topic, “Knuck if You Starbucks” (33:21), Keesa & Djevna talk about the unfortunate incident in a Philly coffee shop that resulted in the cops being called when two men were caught . Some view this event as an isolated incident fueled be poor individual judgement, while others are calling it yet another symptom of a larger system of racial oppression in the US. Who is at fault when employees at corporations get it wrong? What role should corporate policies play in preventing occurrences like this in the future? What can black people do to ensure their safety when others perceive their blackness as an affront to their own? Check out the episode to hear more and if you love it, LIKE and share!
