It was an honor to join the Town of Easton, MA this morning in honoring the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.
This Memorial Day, we reflect on their courage, their sense of duty, and the freedoms their sacrifice helped preserve. We also keep in our thoughts the families, friends, and loved ones who carry their memory forward each and every day.
We will always remember those who gave everything for our nation.

It was great to spend the weekend helping clean up around the district. Luckily the weather cooperated and we were able to spend both Saturday and Sunday picking up trash in both West Bridgewater and Easton. I’m so grateful for everyone who showed up and pitched in, as well as the West Bridgewater Open Space Committee & Conservation Commission and Easton Grange 196 for planning and coordinating! It’s always nice to see my colleague, State Senator Bill Driscoll Jr.. Overall a successful weekend!

It is always a pleasure catching up with our local Fire Chiefs. Chief Thibeault (West Bridgewater), Chief Nardelli (Brockton), and Chief Dzialo (East Bridgewater) do a fantastic job of leading the brave men and women who serve us each day. We were able to hear about their legislative priorities to protect our constituents and our local departments.

Proud to have worked with my colleague State Representative Alyson Sullivan-Almeida to secure this funding for East Bridgewater Police Department’s Drone Program in last year’s budget!
East Bridgewater Police Department Receives $25,000 State Earmark to Launch Drone Program: Chief Michael Jenkins is pleased to announce that the East Bridgewater Police Department has secured a $25,000 state earmark to establish a new drone program that will provide critical tools to improve public safety, officer safety and community protection.
The funding was awarded through the Fiscal Year 2026 state budget under Line Item 8000-0313, which supports local public safety projects and grant programs across Massachusetts.
The $25,000 earmark will be used to support the Department’s drone program, including the purchase of equipment, training and related operational needs.
"This funding allows us to bring in technology that will directly support our officers and the community," said Chief Jenkins. "A drone gives officers the ability to see more and make informed decisions in situations where time and information matter."
The drone program will support a range of public safety functions. In emergencies, drones can quickly reach hard-to-access areas, providing real-time information to officers on the ground. This can improve response times and help guide decision making.
Drones will also be used in search-and-rescue operations, allowing officers to cover large areas more efficiently while searching for missing or endangered individuals.
In potentially dangerous situations, drones can provide an aerial view before officers enter a situation, helping reduce risk. The technology can also assist with documenting crash scenes, monitoring large events and supporting investigations.
The Department expects the program will be cost-effective by reducing the need for special equipment in certain situations, such as large vehicle deployments, saving taxpayer money and reducing the Department’s carbon footprint.
Chief Jenkins said that the Department will implement the program with a focus on transparency.
"Our goal is to use this tool in a way that supports public safety while maintaining the trust of the community we serve," Jenkins said.
The East Bridgewater Police Department will begin implementing the drone program later this year.

It was a great night at Florian Hall where we heard from Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts (PFFM) on their legislative priorities. It was also great catching up with Brockton Firefighters Local IAFF 144.
Firefighters put their lives on the line each and every time they go to work to protect our communities. I’m proud to stand with them.

I was honored to join the men and women of the Brockton Fire Department today as we remember the legacy of the 13 firefighters who gave the ultimate sacrifice during the Strand Theatre Fire in 1941. The men and women of the Brockton Fire Department carry on their memories each and every day they fearlessly show up to serve our community.

Honored to join my colleagues and the Military Friends Foundation for the annual Gold Star Families Tree Dedication, a wonderful ceremony honoring the Commonwealth’s Gold Star Families.
We are eternally grateful for the courageous service members who lost their lives protecting our nation, along with their families who continue to carry their memories forward. This holiday season we hold those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country, and their families, dear in our hearts.

Happy to join my colleague State Representative Alyson Sullivan-Almeida last night at the East Bridgewater School Committee to give a legislative update, and again today to welcome the MIAA Division 4 Volleyball State Champions to the State House.
We were joined by State Senator Michael D. Brady to welcome the team, coaches, and Principal Silva on Beacon Hill and celebrate their successful season! The best part? According to the team: pizza!
Congratulations, Vikings!

It was truly an honor to drop off toys (and bikes!) to My Brother's Keeper. My Brother’s Keeper does incredible work throughout our community, not only during the holiday season, but year round. They provide a beacon of light and hope for many.
Thank you to all of my generous supporters who donated and helped make this gift drive such a success. I’ve spent many years volunteering at “the Keeper” and seeing the faces of parents light up with joy and relief when we deliver presents and food fuels my passion to serve, and serves as a reminder of the true spirit of this holiday season.
