A Delaware man who admitted to ra**ng, strangling, and murdering a Wilmington woman before fleeing the state has been sentenced to 67 years in prison.
On September 12, 2024, officers with the Wilmington Police Department responded to an alley near the 700 block of Catawba Avenue, where they discovered the body of 44-year-old Myeshia Triplett. Investigators later determined that Triplett had been s*xually assaulted, strangled, and killed.
Authorities identified 28-year-old Kyle Batson of Dover as the suspect. Prosecutors said Batson attacked Triplett in Wilmington’s West Center City neighborhood before stealing a vehicle and fleeing to Howard County, Maryland. He was later involved in a crash and taken into custody. Following his arrest, Batson was extradited to Delaware and held on nearly $2 million cash bail.
On November 6, 2025, Batson pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, first-degree r**e, strangulation, abuse of a co**se, and theft of a motor vehicle. The plea spared Triplett’s family from a trial while ensuring a lengthy prison sentence.
During sentencing proceedings, family members described the lasting trauma caused by Triplett’s death and the emotional toll of the violent crime. Prosecutors sought a life sentence, citing the brutality of the attack and Batson’s criminal history. Defense attorneys argued for the mandatory minimum sentence of 32 years, pointing to Batson’s remorse and difficult upbringing.
The judge said she reviewed hours of surveillance footage connected to the case and characterized Batson’s actions as premeditated and calculated.
On June 12, 2026, Batson was sentenced to 67 years in prison. If he serves the full sentence, he will be in his 90s before becoming eligible for release.

Police in Peru used World Cup fever to their advantage this week, disguising themselves as FIFA 2026 mascots to carry out an undercover drug raid in Lima.
Officers with Peru’s Green Squadron dressed as Clutch the Bald Eagle, the United States’ World Cup mascot, and Maple the Moose, Canada’s mascot, as they approached the home of a suspected drug dealer in the San Juan de Lurigancho district. Authorities said investigators learned the suspect was an avid soccer fan closely following World Cup coverage, leading officers to believe the costumes would help them avoid raising suspicion.
Video released by police showed the costumed officers using a battering ram to break through a gate before entering the property and arresting a 48-year-old man identified as Carlos Cabrera Heredia, known by the nickname “Pichichi.” The nickname is a reference to the award given to the top scorer in Spain’s top soccer league.
According to police, officers recovered more than 2,500 packets of co***ne base and a firearm during the operation. Col. Carlos Fredy Alcántara Obregón, head of the Green Squadron, said the disguises allowed officers to approach the suspect without alerting him to the impending raid.
The operation quickly gained attention online after police shared footage of the arrest on TikTok with the caption, “World Cup Mode: Operation ends with the fall of ‘Pichichi.’”
The unusual tactic is part of a long-running strategy employed by Peru’s Green Squadron, which is known for using costumes and disguises during undercover operations. In recent years, officers have posed as Santa Claus, the Grinch, Marvel superheroes, and other popular characters while carrying out arrests.
Earlier in 2025, an officer dressed as a capybara and carrying a turtle-shaped backpack helped apprehend another suspect in a Valentine’s Day drug investigation in Lima.
While Peru failed to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the country’s police force has once again drawn international attention for its creative approach to law enforcement.

A Newport Beach doctor who operated a skincare clinic in Riverside has permanently lost the ability to practice medicine after admitting to s*xually assaulting female patients, bringing a criminal case that had been ongoing for years to an end just before trial was set to begin.
Dr. Sam Sannoufi, 55, pleaded guilty Monday to three misdemeanor counts of s*xual battery involving unconscious victims as part of an agreement with the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office. In exchange for the plea, prosecutors dropped nine felony charges that had also been filed against him.
The plea was entered at the Riverside Hall of Justice shortly before jury selection was expected to start.
Under the sentence imposed by Superior Court Judge Joshlyn Pulliam, Sannoufi will serve two years of probation, pay restitution, and register as a s*x offender for life. Prosecutors said the lifetime s*x offender registration requirement effectively prevents him from holding a medical license, ensuring he can no longer treat patients.
According to the District Attorney’s Office, securing a conviction and permanently removing Sannoufi from the medical profession were key goals of the case. Prosecutors said the victims connected to the charges he admitted to were satisfied with the outcome and relieved that he would never be able to practice medicine again.
The court also issued protective orders for the three victims involved in the case, who were identified in court records only by their initials.
The investigation began in June 2023 when a woman reported being s*xually assaulted during a consultation at Sannoufi’s business, Timeless Skincare Laser Clinic Primary Care in Riverside. Authorities subsequently arrested him on allegations that included s*xual battery and forcible digital pe*******on. After his arrest, Sannoufi posted $1 million bail and was released while the case proceeded through the court system.

Trevor Lines, who disappeared while attending the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Tennessee, remains missing as his family continues searching for answers.
Those assisting in the search say family members recently traveled to a Metro Nashville Police Department station after being told additional help might be available. However, they were reportedly informed that certain investigative tools, including access to camera footage and vehicle-tracking information, cannot be requested until the detective assigned to the case is available. The family says they have been unable to reach that investigator and are concerned that valuable time is being lost while they wait.
As I previously shared, Lines was last seen after leaving an Airbnb on Douglas Avenue in Nashville. Search volunteers are urging residents in the area to review home security footage that may show him leaving the property and help determine whether he left alone or with someone else.
Investigators and family members are also seeking surveillance video from the area around a Cracker Barrel restaurant in Goodlettsville around 4:40 p.m. Anyone with footage from nearby homes, businesses, or dash cameras during that time is encouraged to come forward, as it could provide important clues about his movements.
Lines had traveled to Tennessee with friends to attend Bonnaroo. According to those involved in the search, his phone and other personal belongings were left behind. He is believed to still have his festival wristband and was driving a white 2016 Lexus RX 350 with Purdue University license plates.
Family members are also asking the public to disregard online rumors claiming that Lines has been found, emphasizing that he remains missing. Anyone with information about his whereabouts or who may have relevant surveillance footage is urged to contact law enforcement immediately.

Police in Boston are investigating an armed robbery involving a children’s lemonade stand, with one teenager arrested and at least one additional suspect still being sought, according to authorities.
The Boston Police Department said the incident occurred on June 10 in South Boston, at the corner of East and West Ninth Streets, where siblings Juliette Bryne, 11, and her 12-year-old brother, David, were running a lemonade stand. Investigators said two suspects repeatedly passed by the area before approaching the children and asking whether they accepted Apple Pay.
Before the siblings could respond, one of the suspects allegedly grabbed a box containing about $50 in cash. Police said the situation escalated when one suspect displayed a black firearm from his waistband. Both suspects then fled the scene toward Dorchester Street. Surveillance video of the suspects was later released as part of the investigation.
Boston police said a 14-year-old male was arrested on Friday in connection with the robbery. He is expected to be charged with two counts of armed robbery and two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm and will be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court. Authorities said at least one additional suspect is still being actively sought out.
The case quickly drew widespread community attention. Days after the robbery, the Bryne siblings returned to the same location to reopen their lemonade stand, this time raising money for local youth organizations. The event drew a large turnout, with neighbors lining the block in support, along with Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden, and members of the Boston Police Department.
Community members described the response as an effort to turn a traumatic incident into a show of support and resilience. Stop & Shop also contributed by donating 25 gallons of lemonade and $2,000 to the children’s chosen charity.
Juliette Bryne said she felt grateful for the overwhelming community support following the robbery.

A 71-year-old Montana man has been sentenced to 60 years in prison in connection with the killing of a 67-year-old man that investigators say stemmed from a long-running dispute over money and property.
James Phillip Lawrence received the sentence on June 12, 2026, after pleading guilty earlier in the year to charges related to the death of Edwin “Ed” Albert Loder, who disappeared in August 2024.
Loder was last heard from on August 30, 2024, in the Ronan area of Lake County. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office initially opened a missing person investigation, but authorities quickly began treating the case as suspicious due to early evidence at the scene.
Investigators reported finding signs of violence near Loder’s home along Timberlane Road, east of Ronan, including blood evidence, 9mm shell casings, and a pair of eyeglasses that appeared to have blood on them. That discovery shifted the investigation toward a suspected homicide.
As detectives followed leads, they focused on Lawrence, who was 70 at the time. Court documents indicated the two men had been involved in a financial and property dispute tied to an inheritance. Investigators said Lawrence believed he had been wrongfully denied assets he felt he was entitled to, and that dispute was considered a possible motive in the killing.
Law enforcement later connected Lawrence to key locations in the case through phone records and surveillance footage showing a distinctive red Chevrolet truck traveling in areas tied to Loder’s disappearance.
When questioned by investigators, Lawrence admitted to his involvement in the killing. He reportedly told detectives, “I’m toast anyways, I guess, so, yeah I did it.” He also stated he used a 9mm handgun to shoot Loder, though he could not recall how many times he fired or specific details of the shooting. According to investigators, he said he disposed of Loder’s body in the Jocko Canyon area, discarded the firearm from his vehicle, and later washed his truck in an attempt to remove evidence.
On September 6, 2024, authorities located Loder’s body in Jocko Canyon, confirming the case as a homicide.
Lawrence was charged with deliberate homicide and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence. Prosecutors said the tampering charge was related to alleged efforts to conceal or destroy evidence, including a phone, the firearm, and the victim’s body.
On April 22, 2026, Lawrence entered a plea agreement and changed his plea before being sentenced to 50 years in prison for the homicide and an additional 10 years for tampering with evidence, resulting in a total sentence of 60 years.
