• Assess the closure status of abandoned mines and the scope/impacts of mining-related activities at U.S. Forest Service - Cleveland National Forest near San Diego.

• Join the U.S. Forest Service-Superior National Forest in the “Land of 10,000 Lakes” to study the effects of timber harvest on forest soils and vegetation using standardized protocols. Complete field work or analyze soil, plant and water samples in the lab.
