It started 2 years ago.
The mirrors showing up.
Foreshadowing.
So very Ghost of Christmas Future.
Howād I start to see them?
I felt them first.
A hit on the inside that said:
PAY THE F**K ATTENTION TO THIS.
I was hyper aware of each thing I was witnessing:
- The friend in complete meltdown after major life events and no self care, took them down.
- The friend crumbling and grieving the loss of a love that didnāt want them, for YEARS.
- The massively chaotic friend who had no time for real friendship.
- The friend who didnāt use their voice and tolerated unacceptable behavior for years.
- The friend who chased a love and felt empty without it.
- The friend who validated someone else and I trusted, despite what my intuition said.
- The friend who couldnāt keep their money in order, no matter how hard they tried.
- The friend who doubted themselves and stayed stuck and spinning in indecision.
- The friend who filled the hole in their soul with something else and it still wasnāt right for them.
ALL of these friends, my mirrors, in the last 2 yearsā¦ have shown me more of myself than Iāve ever known in my whole life.
Self awareness can be a freight train to the face sometimesā¦ itās not easy to see someone elseās struggle and be SO TRIGGERED by itā¦ and then take it all inside to process and see what Iām supposed to see inside myself.
Ever wanna bang your head against a wall cuz your friend just ISNāT GETTING IT?!
