Cardio Cartel Racing Club

Cardio Cartel Racing Club has had a few busy weeks! We’ve been to 3 spectacular meets with notable results from our members! This will be the first of a series of 3 posts summarizing the results of these meets! First off, Mark Covert Classic at Carbon Canyon Regional Park!
The men started off the day running the 8k Invite! Mario Martinez led the men through this challenging meet finishing in 29:23. High school senior Josueisai Lopez took on this race as his first 8k finishing in 32:45.3! Stephen Goddard, also a high school senior, did 5k of the course as a rust buster for this season, completing the distance in 22:45!
Cadence Youngman was up next! Our brave high school senior girl took on NCAA D1 and D2 teams as well as an OLYMPIAN! Cadence completed the course in 19:57.4 for the 5k course to finish in 53rd. Her place would’ve put her as a top 7 athlete on all the women’s teams but one!
Also notable, we got to see and compete with our CCRC alumni Emma Mills and Elijah Ocegueda! Emma completed the 5k race in 21:01.1 for Cal State San Marcos and Elijah finished the 8k in 27:10.6! Afterwards, our athletes had the honor of meeting author, screenwriter, actress, Olympian, and Bravey, Alexi Pappas (who by the way loved our uniforms 👀 😎)!!
