AAAO members were present for the AKA Day at the Capitol event with our Alpha Kappa Alpha sisters across Oklahoma. Educational and informative day!

Yesterday, our Empower Our Families Committee hosted a Mental Health Forum titled, “What Is Self-Care?”

Our speaker, Sheila Harbert, LMSW, shared the importance of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and interpersonal skills in helping individuals navigate and resolve conflict.

We also heard from AAAO Secretary Summer Bradford, LCSW, who guided attendees through the different types of self-care, as well as mindfulness and grounding strategies to support overall well-being.
