Just a lil preview of tomorrow’s shenanigans! We are celebrating National Golden Retriever Day with 8 Goldens and their Westie Chieftain! My goodness it’s gonna be a fun day!

CS is always saying “We don’t pay people to love dogs.” .. and it’s true. Loving dogs is a PREREQ.

For every 100 job applications we receive, we’ll bring on maybe 1 person: The One who not only loves dogs, but is punctual, professional, communicates well, works really hard, and most of all - is unimpeachably trustworthy. So yes, it’s true - we don’t pay people to love dogs. There’s so much more that we screen for and do.

However, it’s THAT LOVE, beyond the “I grew up with dogs” level of love, past even the “I have a dog currently” level of love, that will get you up at 7AM to go walk 20 dogs in a blizzard (day after day!) ..It’s the “I will walk into a room full of dogs all sizes, ages & temperaments, and I will personally make sure each one is happy & safe” level of love. Trust us, this job is not as easy as we make it seem!

We can teach people how to read dog body language, handle fifty different types of harnesses and manage a romper room full of dogs. But we cannot make anyone LOVE them. Not this level of love. This has to come from deep inside a person!
